MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

 

Annual dues are $70.00.

 

In order to maintain a league atmosphere, we request members to play a minimum of eight times during the season and participate in two of the four special tournaments: Member/Member, Member/Guest, Flights (Match Play), and League Championship. 

Players are assigned tee times randomly during our allotted league time.

If you are unable to play due to illness, injury, or disability, you must notify the Membership Chair to maintain your membership. 

Please try to play every week as the League’s future will depend on attendance numbers.

SPECIAL TOURNAMENTS

 

FLIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP (MATCH PLAY)

 

This tournament is played in Divisions.  There will be gross and net winners in each Division.  Tournament participants must be prepared to play all matches if necessary.  If unable to do so, it is your responsibility to contact your opponent and make other arrangements agreeable to both or you must forfeit the match.  Also, note your match must be completed by the start of matches on the following Thursday.   

 

LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND

(MEDAL PLAY)

 

The tournament is low gross and low net with winners for overall gross and net.  The overall winners in gross and net will be the League Champions for one year.    The tournament consists of 18 holes of medal play, 9 holes to be played on two Thursdays.   

 

MEMBER / GUEST

 

This tournament is an overall gross and net tournament played with a partner.  (Partner is not a member of FPWGA)   (information and sign-up will be sent to each member)

 

MEMBER / MEMBER

 

This tournament is our year-end tournament.  The Pro Shop assigns partners.   Prizes go to the overall gross and net winners.

Information and sign-up will be sent to each member.

 

​Member/Guest and  Member/Member Tournament, play to 90% of handicaps.

FPWGA – Mentor program

 

All new members of the league will be paired with a board member as their mentor in the first couple of weeks of the season.  As mentors, the board member will introduce their ‘mentee’ to everyone and answer any questions, especially concerning special tournaments.    All board members will offer any help as needed.     

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

 

Tournaments will be held every Thursday morning from 3rd week in April through the first week in October, weather permitting.   

 

Tee Times start at 7:58 in April, May, September, and October, and at 7:30 in June, July, and August.  You must check in with the Pro Shop and pay a fee of $2.00 before you go to the first tee.  Please arrive at least 15 minutes early.  On the day of play, members will be asked if they plan to play the following week.   If you skip a week you can sign up for the following week by either emailing  grammygruber@gmail.com or by calling the Pro Shop, by noon on Tuesday.  Tee times will be posted on the Fresh Pond Website, www.freshpondgolf.com, the Ladies’ League page, on Wednesday by 10:00 a.m.  Alternatively, you can call the Pro Shop on Wednesday for your tee time.

 

The tournament of the day will be posted on the Pro Shop counter.

 

Each foursome should keep two cards to verify the scores.  The official scorecard, with the member's GHIN numbers, should be one-handed in at the Pro Shop for entry into the computer and for determining the weekly winners.

 

Scorecards will NOT be accepted if they are not added correctly, dated, signed, and attested.

 

Ties: The first hole will be used to determine during regular games and during play of a shotgun then the first handicap hole will be used.

RINGERS

 

    Each participant must post her scores on the Ringer Chart in the women’s locker room after the Thursday morning weekly tournament.

 

CHIP-INS AND BIRDIES

 

All members are entered into this tournament with paid dues.  Chip-ins and Birdies should be attested to and recorded in the Women’s Locker room.

All league Members are eligible for these tournaments.

 

 

SPECIAL AWARDS

 

THE GRACE CROMBIE AWARD

 

The Grace Crombie Award is given to the member with the lowest net score at the Member/Member Tournament. In case of cancellation, the member with the lowest net score from the Member/Guest Tournament  will be awarded the trophy
